We fully expect organisation to carry out further verification. We do not claim to verify the identity of a user, only verify the individual bits of data they send. See what steps are taken to verify users for more information.

To get additional verification from requestors in the form of a government ID or utility bill you should use the direct messaging feature in the portal as outlined in our guide responding to an access request.

You can submit a message back to the user requesting them to upload a photo ID, or scan a utility bill or document and send it to you, allowing you to conduct further checks before responding with their personal data.

We intend to provide a premium feature that makes this process of ID verification very simple.
